Hay Bales at Sunrise

Early morning this past Saturday.  Decided to drag myself out of bed (which is a feat in itself for me) and head out to some farm ground and a barn that I knew of for some early morning shots.  The main reason for the wake up was to try and capture the sunrise with a field of sunflowers.  While driving around looking for the sunflower field, I came across a stack of hay bales sitting next to the highway with a prime view of the rising sun.  So a quick stop and a few brackets and this is what I ended up with.  Really love the tones you get when shooting during ‘blue hour’.

  1. I am sneezing just looking at this shot. My nose hates harvest season! I love the giant wall of hay, and am thankful I won’t have to get those into the hay loft. I so don’t miss chucking hay every fall in preparation for winter.

  7. Very nice simplistic shot! Gotta give you credit just for getting up at that early hour for sunrise. One of the main reasons I don’t have many sunrise shots is my inability to get out of bed before the sun peaks over the horizon.
