Leaving Totality

One of my favorite nights of shooting in the recent past would have to have been the most recent total lunar eclipse.  Pretty simple set up and shoot really, but it almost didn’t happen.  Clouds and sleeping through my alarm almost made me miss the whole show.  This was my first total lunar eclipse to observe, and I really enjoyed the view.  Don’t plan on missing any future eclipses visible from my location.

  2. Love that negative ‘space’. 🙂

The stars are perfect in adding context to the moon – love.

  3. Now that is cool. Like the color shit, negative space and little white speckles called stars. Great work Scott!

  6. Sweet shot, Scott! What lens are you using for these? They’re just wonderful!

    • All of my eclipse shots were with a Canon 75-300mm lens. Pretty cheap lens but it had the range I needed for these shots. This one is also cropped slightly.
