The Windsor Hotel: Hourglass

Really had some pretty cool light the morning in the hotel.  We tried to plan it when the sun was fairly low in the sky but high enough to shine into the windows and skylights at a downward angle.  HDR really worked out well during this time because there was a lot of shadows and highlights right next to one another.  Have really been working on my ‘eye’ for these kinds of shots.  You really have to make yourself see what your camera would see.  In the past, I never would have thought to frame a picture like this, but I really like the results.

  3. Neat shot, I like the light coming through but might go for a lower framing if you have the chance next time. The image makes me want to see what else is in the room!

  8. Nice effect! Makes me think the room is in some kind of Inception chamber with the pieces on the ground moving up the hourglass of light.
